Battling Hunger Through Winter Break

Pick up 2 weeks of food this Friday.

Hunger in Silicon Valley is more widespread and diverse than once thought. One food insecurity study found that 1 in 4 people is at risk for hunger; nearly a quarter are families with children. 

There's help.

This Friday, Dec. 18: We are offering 10 days worth of meals for pick up this Friday. CUSD’s meal service will be closed during the Winter Break (Dec. 21-Jan. 3), but families can still be fed.
This Friday, Dec, 18, pick up 2 weeks worth of meals:

  • 11am to 1pm at Blackford, Capri, Castlemont, Lynhaven, Rosemary, or Sherman Oaks schools. 
  • 2pm to 3:30pm at Monroe Middle Schools.

Starting Jan. 4: Our regular free meal pick up program resumes. Monday through Friday, we offer 5 days worth of meals—breakfast, lunch, and after school meals—from 11am to 1pm at Blackford, Capri, Castlemont, Lynhaven, Rosemary, and Sherman Oaks. We distribute meals at Monroe from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. This schedule will continue through Phase 2 of CUSD’s reopening plan. Pick up times and sites may change when Phase 2 begins.
