Sherman Oaks Rolls Out a 90/10 Dual Language Immersion Model!

Sherman Oaks Elementary School is now implementing a 90/10 Dual Language Immersion Model (Spanish/Eng.), which is proven by research and is field-tested, to be the most effective instructional approach of dual language education.  During the 2015-16 school year, we are officialy transitioning from the former 50/50 approach to a 90/10 model with our Kindergarten and first grade classes.   We will gradually increase each year as we progress through the grades until we reach 50/50 in fourth through sixth grade.  This is exciting news as the whole school benefits from an "upgraded" instructional approach aligned to the Common Core State Standards that meets the demands of the 21st century.
